Sometimes, on opening downloaded csv files, you can get unreadable characters.
These are encoding errors, which happen when the proper encoding Unicode UTF-8 has not been set on Excel.
To be able to properly open your file, follow these steps:
- Open a blank excel sheet.
- Click on file, import, csv file and click on Import:
- Select your file, click on get data. A new window will appear.
- Select Delimited for the type of data and Unicode(UTF-8) for the file origin and click on next
- Select Comma as delimiter and click on Finish
- Click on Import
The file will be imported and you will be able to save it on your computer.
